---|
| Follow these instructions on August 3rd if you do not have an existing Zoom account using a USask email address: - Confirm that you are eligible for a USask Zoom account.
- Staff and students can Opt-in to Zoom through MyProfile. Faculty should not have to opt-in and can move on to step 3.
Sign in to Zoom at https://usask-ca.zoom.us or through the Web Conferencing channel in PAWS. Note |
---|
After you opt-in, there will be a delay of up to 6 hours before you will be able to sign-in and begin using your account. This is part of the expected process. If you attempt to sign-in immediately, you will receive an error message indicating that "something went wrong while you tried signing in with SSO." Please try again later. |
- You have now claimed your account and can start using Zoom:Â https://usask-ca.zoom.us

| Follow these instructions if you already have a personal or department account using a USask email address. You will be required to either consolidate with the USask enterprise account on or after August 3, 2021 when you log in to your existing account at https://zoom.us/ or change the email address (instructions below) on your personal/department account to a non-usask.ca email address (such as gmail.com etc) to maintain the account separately. To take advantage of the integrations available with Outlook and Canvas and to avoid paying for a separate account going forward, it is recommended that you consolidate into the USask enterprise account. To consolidate: - Confirm that you are eligible for a USask Zoom account.
- In a web browser visit https://zoom.us/Â and log in with your existing Zoom account credentials.Â
If you are already logged in, please log out and back in again in order to receive the prompt below.  Once you log in, you will be prompted to consolidate with the USask enterprise account (webconferencing@usask.ca):
 Note |
---|
You can skip the consolidation two times. If you do so, you will be able to log in and use your account. However, on the third time, the option to skip will no longer be available. When you select continue, your account will consolidate with the USask Enterprise account. |
You will receive confirmation that you have joined the USask Zoom account (webconferencing@usask.ca):
 Note |
---|
If you had a paid account, Zoom has advised that this process will prompt you to request a refund for the outstanding pro-rated balance before consolidating. You will be presented with the option to "refund to me" or to webconferencing@usask.ca. Please select the "refund to me" option. Once the refund request has been submitted, a confirmation page should appear and an email will be sent when the refund process is complete. |
Note |
---|
There will be a delay of up to 6 hours before you will be able to sign-in and begin using your account. This is part of the expected process. If you attempt to sign-in immediately, you will receive an error message indicating that "something went wrong while you tried signing in with SSO." Please proceed with steps 5-8 later. If after 6 hours you have not received an email from Zoom with your sign-in credentials, please notify itsupport@usask.ca |
- Sign in to Zoom using the Sign in to Profile Page prompt, at https://usask-ca.zoom.us, or through the Web Conferencing channel in PAWS:

- Enter your NSID and password:

| The following details will transfer with you: - Your profile details (name, profile picture, time zone, etc)
- Scheduled meetings and webinars
- Cloud recordings
- NOTE: recordings which are older than 120 days will be automatically deleted when you consolidate your account. We recommend that you review your past recordings and recover any that you need to keep. Learn about recovering your deleted recordings.
- IM history
- Contacts
The following will not transfer with you: - Settings may be altered if they conflict with group or account settings on the USask account you are joining.
- Any add-on licenses, such as large meeting or webinar, will not transfer. If these are needed, submit a request to IT Support Services.
- Reporting data will also not be transferred, so it is recommended that you access and download any needed reports before consolidating.
- IM history is transferred and accessible but any IM history from before joining the account is not accessible to USask account admins. Â
Note |
---|
After you consolidate into the USask Zoom account, previously scheduled meetings and webinars will be unaffected, but the join links will be updated to the new URL. This will cause attendees joining with the old links to be warned that the meeting they are joining is no longer associated with the account and could potentially cause confusion. To avoid this, you can email any guests and update calendar events with the updated join URL, or resend registration confirmation emails. |
